lies in the valley, the sun is shining on the <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myswitzerland.com\/en-ch\/destinations\/zugerberg\/\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Zugerberg<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> . <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Or at least a lot. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">With an altitude of almost 1100 meters, Zug&#8217;s local mountain has a very special charisma.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The mountain offers possibilities for everyone: Whether it&#8217;s a good traditional swiss meal in a restaurant, climbing up to the 1500 meter peak, a family excursion or a wonderful panoramic hike. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">We have opted for the latter and take you on this adventure hike.<\/span><\/span><\/p><h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Arrival by public transport <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Since there are only a few parking spaces available at the valley station, it is best to travel by public transport. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Take bus number 11 from Zug Bahnhof to Sch\u00f6negg. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The bus leaves every half hour (07\/37). <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Theoretically you could also park your car in Zug and take the bus from there. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">If you would like to know in advance whether the sun is shining on the Zugerberg mountain, it is recommended to check the local <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.swisswebcams.ch\/webcam\/1292514620-Zugerberg-%286301-Zug%29_Wetter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">webcam<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> .<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Loaded with enough water, you walk towards Walchwil. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">After a few minutes you pass the well-known <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montana-zug.ch\/en\/about-us\/at-a-glance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Montana Institute<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , which was built in 1926.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Institute has everything from a bilingual primary and secondary school to a college.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">On the parking of the Institute you have a wonderful view on the region with the royal blue lake Zug and the surrounding mixture of nature, agriculture and city. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The lake was still covered by fog, which gradually disappeared in next hours.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" so-called drumlins, were created by the glacier, which pushed the debris back and forth. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">150 million years ago, the Zug region was still covered by the sea. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">When the African and Eurasian plates drifted together which formed the Alps, sediments were deposited in the region of Zug and among other places. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Since the glaciers have penetrated the Mittelland of Switzerland a few times in the last three million years, they also formed the &#8220;Zuger 15 minute descent to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Walchwil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walchwil<\/a> begins on a rather steep path.
