Sattel-Hochstuckli is known as the family mountain of Central Switzerland. In this article you will discover four top hikes with fantastic views and experiences, which will make the children extraordinarily happy.<\/strong><\/p>

Sattel-Hochstuckli – A region where enjoyment, relaxation and fun come together<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Arriving at the valley station, you will first be greeted by the world’s first revolving gondola lift. Up to the top station on the Mostelberg, the gondolas rotate twice around their own axis. You can enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Aegeri, the Wildspitz and the Rigi.<\/p>

Sattel-Hochstuckli Top hike 1: Engelstock circular route \/ Goat Track (Geiss\u00e4 W\u00e4g)<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

When you arrive at the mountain station, Kira, the cute little goat, is already smiling at you. Right next to her, the Geiss\u00e4 W\u00e4g start awaits you. A photo should not be missed here, because the imposing Mythen mountains are wonderfully visible in the background. Like the Engelstock circular route, the Geiss\u00e4-W\u00e4g leads around the Engelstock. However, it ends at the Bl\u00fcemlisberg goat farm.<\/p>

I particularly enjoyed this hike because of the variety of forest, meadows and unique views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. The Geiss\u00e4 W\u00e4g is family-friendly and informative. Enjoyment is not neglected along the way either.<\/p>

Bars and restaurants to relax<\/strong><\/h3>

The Engelstockweid Beizli, from where you have a wonderful view of the Schwyz<\/a> valley basin, makes its own cheese over the fire, which tastes delicious. The Alpenhugo will also sweeten your day. It’s not unusual for a cow to greet you at the Engelstockweid Beizli. The hike continues and soon you hear bells. These are neither from cows nor from goats, but the next post of the Geiss\u00e4 trail: What fun – a hamster wheel with bells on it.<\/p>

After all seven posts you arrive at the Bl\u00fcemlisberg goat farm and can enjoy your well-deserved goat milk ice cream. The ice cream is made directly on the farm and tastes fantastic. If you’ve never tried one, this ice cream has to be on your to-do list! Beside that you can also buy goat cheese, goat meat and cosmetic products made from goat milk at Ziegenhof Bl\u00fcemlisberg.<\/p>

The trail continues along a mountain road to Mostelegg. It is worth taking a short detour to the lookout point. From there you have a unique view of the Mythen and the Schwyz valley basin. Not infrequently in autumn, a unique sea of fog overwhelms you there.<\/p>

Tip: The Geiss\u00e4 W\u00e4g can also be started from Bl\u00fcemlisberg. This gives you the option of hiking the Engelstock circular trail from both sides. You can also make a detour over the 374-metre-long pedestrian suspension bridge “Skywalk”, which is right next to the Mostelberg mountain station.<\/p>

Sattel-Hochstuckli Top hike 2: Mythen round trip <\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

The Mythen round trip stretches from the Rotenfluebahn to Mostelberg. The hike can be started from either side. However, the hike from the Rotenflue is more pleasant, as there are fewer metres in altitude to cover. The hike takes a good 3 hours, during which time and again small pubs invite you to linger.<\/p>

Unfortunately the weather didn’t play along today and the Mythen mountains rarely showed themselves. At the top station of the Rotenflue you must not miss the Grand Tour of Switzerland crest in the direction of Mythen. It is a bit hidden and you have to go to the panorama terrace behind the restaurant to enjoy the perfect view.<\/p>

Fireplace for BBQ<\/strong><\/h3>

The first well-equipped fireplace including a roof awaits you after 15 minutes. Wood is freely available behind the fire house. The hiking trail then continues in the direction of Grosser Mythen<\/a>. The hike along the two Mythen is very varied and leads through forest and meadows. In places you will also pass cows. Make sure that you always keep enough distance to the animals. It is not unusual to see chamois, red deer and marmots in the Mythen hunting reserve. You will also come across pigs at the Gummen alpine cheese dairy.<\/p>

Arriving at Haggenegg, a breathtaking view of the Schwyz valley basin awaits you. Via a trail past cows, the route leads to Mostelegg. You can take the direct way back to the mountain station Mostelberg (Sattel-Hochstuckli). However, I recommend you to complete the hike at the front via the Engelstock circular path.<\/p>

Keep in mind that there is no fountain on the whole hike, so you should definitely take enough water with you. But on the hike you will also pass some restaurants.<\/p>

It is important to calculate enough time for the hike so that you can still catch the last cable car. The walk down from the mountain station to the valley station of the gondola Sattel-Hochstuckli takes approximately 45 minutes, at the Rotenfluebahn<\/a> even a little longer.<\/p>

Top hike 3: Bridge circuit with integrated scavenger hunt for children<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Just a few steps away from the mountain station you will reach the impressive 374-metre-long “Skywalk” footbridge, which spans the Lauitobel at a height of 58 metres. The bridge is also the starting point for the “Br\u00fcckenrundweg” hike, which takes around 40 minutes.<\/p>

This circular route is a leisurely hike that you can do with a pushchair or wheelchair without any problems. Along the way you will find mountain restaurants, well-equipped fireplaces and a stream that invites you to cool off. In addition, the peace and quiet invites you to linger. If your dog accompanies you, you can also rent dog fins at the mountain station, so that your dog can walk over the suspension bridge without any problems. For the children there is a scavenger hunt on this hike. The children can get the map at the valley station. There are treasure chests hidden all along the hike. When they have all been found, they can pick up a small surprise at the valley station with the solution word.<\/p>

You do not need any special previous knowledge for this hike. It can be done well with trekking shoes.<\/p>

Top hike 4: Trotti – Trekking<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Take the gondola up from Sattel to Mostelberg and then down on the scooter and back to the starting point. You can enjoy the unique pre-Alpine landscape and the wonderful view. The scooters are available for hire at the kiosk at the Mostelberg mountain station. The start with the scooter over the 374 metre long pedestrian suspension bridge “Skywalk” is a highlight. After a short ascent, you ride in a relaxed manner through the M\u00e4derenwald forest and along alpine pastures to Biberegg. The route consists of tarred sections and gravel roads. On the pastures it is possible that cows are on the scooter track. Which is however an absolute experience. After all, who can say that they have ridden a scooter through the cows \ud83d\ude09The route continues through forests and you get to enjoy the smell of fresh fir branches and the cool driving wind. Shortly before Rothenthurm, the trail leads back through the breathtaking landscape and past farms to Sattel at the valley station. The Trotti-Trekking is for children from 10 years.<\/p>
